North Connecticut Trip / Kuzey Connecticut Gezisi

Babaannenin gelmesi, anneannenin buradaki son gunlerinin olmasi, ve de bizim de birkac gun iznimiz olmasi dolayisiyla Kuzey'e dogru kucuk bir geziye ciktik. Amac gormedigimiz birkac yeri daha gormek, civardaki sehirleri tanimakti. Hem de duyduk ki bu kucuk sehirlerde yeni yil ve noel suslemeleri cok hos oluyormus, anne/babaannelere onu da gosterelim istedik.

Because Yuksel's mom had just arrived, my mom was about to return to Turkey, and Yuksel and I had a few days off, we made a little trip up to north Connecticut to get to know some of the little towns/cities in this area and also show the grandmas even more holiday decorations in these towns, as we heard they were beautiful.

Derin otelde kahvaltida surup kutusunu isirarak patlatti, ve de tadini begendi.
Derin bit open the syrup container during breakfast at the hotel, and seemed to like its taste.

Holidays in New York

Kasim ayinda New York'ta heryerin dekore edilip Noel ve yeni yil icin hazirlanmasiyla birlikte sehir kis aylarinda oldugundan cok daha guzel gorunuyor. Biz de ailecek Noel'i kutlamiyor olsak da, bu donem sirasindaki gorsellikten, insanlarin aileleriyle birlikte olup geleneklerini yasatmalarini gozlemlemekten keyif aliyoruz. Bu sezon da Derin de isiltili suslemeleri ve eglenceleriyle New York'un tadini almaya devam etti.

During the holidays in New York, the city looks a lot better than it normally does in winter months. And even though we do no celebrate Christmas as a family, we do enjoy the visual beauty of the city and sincerely like the fact that people travel across the country to be together with family and continue the tradition. In this season, Derin also enjoyed the bright lights and fun of the city.

Sehirde bircok susleme, bircok agac, bir cok vitrin dekorasyonu gorduk ama, bir binanin icindeki bu yapiyi gorunce hayretler icinde uzun sure onu izledik. Her detayi ayri guzel, mekanize edilmis, harika bir yapiydi.
We saw many decorations, trees and decked out windows in the city, but when we saw this construction in a building, we watched it in awe for a while. It was a  wonderful structure, with every detail mechanized and beautifully made.

Eventful November / Dopdolu Kasim ayi
