Derin...here and there / Oradan buradan Derin'den kareler

This post will not be one that's organized around a theme or a trip, etc. Just a few snapshots of our baby boy just being himself.

Bu yazi digerleri gibi ozel bir konu ya da gezi uzerine kurulu degil. Oglumuz Derin'in olagan, gunluk yasamindan kareler var bu sefer sadece.

Last weekend we bought Derin a truck and a car made out of milk bottles. He's checking them out.  I love the colors in this photo very much.
Derin is drinking KEFIR (a very healthy drink, it's fermented milk) with daddy.
It's a little sour!

But he's happy with the result. Yay kefir! Haha.

On a nice afternoon, Derin found someone to play football with.  Yes, FOOTball. He can't quite kick yet, but enjoyed the playing and the tricks this guy made which amazed him.

Then, after he got tired of football, he walked around and came across this guy, who had this "backpacker" guitar and played for Derin. He even strummed the strings himself, but enjoyed the listening more.

I just love this one. An afternoon nap.

Those who are Turkish will recognize the guy on the screen: Zeki Muren. Quite a character in the Turkish Art Music genre, as it's called. Who knows why (maybe because grandma listens to him on YouTube all the time), Derin loves him. The other day, he gave me the remote when Zeki Muren was on, and asked me to turn the volume up. Not with words, but an unmistakeable grunt that turned into a smile when I turned it up. Par-tay! Hahah.

Here's Derin enjoying more music, this time at Central Park.

For a second I though he was going to start with some Latin moves...but he didn't. Maybe later.

I took Derin out for a walk after I got home from work early. There's a little square around our block, and tons of birds were there enjoying some bread crumbs of what looked like tons of unfinished Easter bread. He had a blast scaring the birds off and chasing them around. I figured he isn't at an age where "sweetheart, we don't scare birds, they're just having dinner" would make a lot of sense. So I let him enjoy it. He means no harm.

Derin would have none of his own whole milk from a zippy cup or any other vessel.....but when daddy's trying to have his breakfast cereal in cold non-fat milk, Derin is always there to help.

He's like a little bird himself, asking for food. I squeezed and kisses him right after I took this photo.
