Derin dogdugunda, dedesi Zeki onun adina biri onlarin calistigi yer olan Kepsut'ta, digeri de yazliklarinin bulundugu yer olan Orjan'da (ikisi de Balikesir'de) iki tane zeytin agaci dikmisti. Boylari bir metreyi gecmeyen, ciliz, kucucuk birer agactilar.

When Derin was born, his grandfather Zeki planted two olive trees in his name: One where Zeki and grandma works, Kepsut, and another one where they have a summer house, Orjan - both in Balikesir. They were both little, frail trees, just about 3 feet tall.

Derin Ege 13 aylik oldugunda (bundan iki ay once), dedesi Kepsut'taki agaci kontrol ettiginde gordu ki agac boyuna bakmaksizin zeytin vermis bile. Hem de 13 tane! Coktan olmus olan zeytinleri toplayip bize de fotografini yolladi.

When Derin Ege turned 13 months (2 months ago), his grandpa checked out the tree in Kepsut and saw that it already gave fruit: there were 13 olives on the tree! He picked those already ripe olives, and sent us a photo.
